GeneralLet Behaviorthe Rulesstreamers play!

TheseWhile rulesstreamers applyenjoy ininteracting allwith Minecraftcommunity contexts, including events. Much of this should be common sense.

Absolutely No Orbiting Streamers

Whilemembers on the server, ensureit you are on task andshould not simply online to spectate streamers. We want to maintain a positive experience for both the streamer as well as other players, so help us do that. This rule includes Carson, his friends, and anyone else who may be liveyour sole priority while on the server. If you're unsure where to drop off a gift for a given streamer, please contact staff rather than interrupting the livestream for help figuring that out. Otherwise, avoid forcibly inserting yourself into stream interactions as much as possible.

If you areyou're being pushedforced by a forcefield, that is your chancewarning to leave.leave. Hanging around nearby afterafterwards may result in you being kicked, killed, or banned depending on how obnoxious you're being. Being loud or intentionally disruptive during a stream is grounds for at least a temporary ban. If you die from forcefield push(which is very common), you're likely to lose EXP, items, or even your trial.

Organic interactions with streamers are, of course, encouraged and allowed. Do your best to be mindful on when would be best to start your interactions to avoid interrupting on-going segments of the stream. We've had many situations where folks overstep or just cause issues rather than add to the experience for everyone. Bear in mind that streamers are players on the server too.

Trying to hijack the entire stream with your bit is generally a bad ideaidea. If you're not sure if that applies to you, it probably does and maywe'd endask that you err on the safe side.

No griefing or stealing

SMPOnline is NOT an anarchy server! All player-made creations should be left alone unless you have permission or otherwise reasonable cause to mess with less-than-idealthem. consequencesThis forincludes you, unwanted suchadditions asto beinganother killed, players teleportedbuild. away,Unclaimed blocks or evenitems temporarilyshould banned.not be taken if they're not yours. Don't kill or steal mobs that belong to other players.

You'reLava welcome to interact with streamers organically, but taking actions thatcasts are largely, almost or entirely, disruptive to them or their streams is notnever allowed on SMPOnline and may result in a punishment.ban, If you're being told to go away, go away. If you can't think of anything to do in the area surrounding a streamer other than look at them, chances are you shouldn't be there.

Don't enforce rules yourself

If someone's negatively impacting your experience, even if it's slightly outside of the rules, report it to staff. Do not retaliate, as retaliation makes it harder for us to fairly punish all parties involved. "They started it" stops being a good excuse rather quickly.

Players should not attempt to enforce any rules themselves, especially if they're player-madeintruding on other player's land. It's perfectly fine to use a lava cast to help with a build your making, but please be mindful of other players around you.

Don't build anything to deliberately annoy someone on the server. Don't let mobs out of their cages, abuse gaps in claims, or claim around another user to cause issues for them. Abuse of the claiming system is griefing and will result in a punishment.

Randomly killing other players is not allowed, including via player traps. Don't attempt to steal items from other players or otherwise ruin their experience on the server. If your build is hazardous to players, please make sure it's marked with a sign to avoid new players accidentally dying.

Do not kill trial players to end their trial. All players are entitled to their full trial period. Trials are only intended to end if a player dies via survival causes, such as hostile mobs or their own mistake. Purposely ending someone's trial may result in a ban.

Keep all activity appropriate

SMPOnline is a mature, adult-oriented community. All in-game content and conduct must be appropriate for stream at a minimum, including any use of mods, books, signs, builds, etc.

The Twitch Community Guidelines are a good point of reference, as well as the rules of the CallMeCarsonLIVE Twitch channel. We will not tolerate racism, hate speech, or otherwise hateful conduct. Be respectful to all players (including staff) at all times. Avoid spamming the chat or otherwise being disruptive. Follow all staff instructions, and in general, don't be a dick.

Please avoid discussing or depicting sensitive, real-world topics in-game, especially in text chat or in public spaces. SMPOnline is not intended to be a space for that kind of stuff - it's a place full of people running bits, having fun, and otherwise being unserious. Staff may ask you to stop, change topics, or take action if you continue crossing the line.

Displaying, creating, or doing things on SMPOnline that are sexually evocative is not allowed. TheWhile onlywe exceptiondo encourage artistic expression on the server, there are limits to thiswhat's allowed. Treat anything you make on the server as if it'll appear on a livestream and keep it reasonable. Nothing you make should focus on (or exaggerate) the sexual aspects of characters. If you're unsure if what you're doing crosses the line, please ask before finalizing anything.

Excessively sexual jokes may result in punishment, so please keep those reasonable. If staff tell you to stop, stop.

Depictions of self-harm, suicide, real-world deaths, or extreme gore are not allowed anywhere on SMPOnline. If what you're making would be respectfullytoo requestingextreme someonefor adjusta theirHalloween buildcontext, don't do it.

Treat everyone with respect

DoWhen notdoing beanything on SMPOnline, your actions impact the experience other players around you. Everyone has to work together to maintain a pleasant server atmosphere, as well as keep the server free of pointless toxicity. Please report disrespectful conduct to staff so we can make note of it or take action if necessary. If someone asks you to stop doing something, it's generally best to stop.

Extremely rude or hostile towardsbehavior othertoward players, others includingis innot yourallowed. communicationsAvoid escalating issues when disrespectful conduct occurs as you may be punished yourself, even if you didn't cause the original problem. Keep disagreements as civil as possible and defer to staff for assistance if you're unable to settle matters with themanother outside the server. Toxicity and/or personal quarrels that bleed over into the server often end up a problem staff has to deal with. It's possible to be permanently banned for simply causing too much trouble on the server, so keep it chill and to a minimum as much as possible.user.

Cheating during events will result in a permanent ban if we learn of it. Please use our world map if you're looking for a particular structure or point of interest.

Avoiding our AFK kick is generally considered cheating and may result in a warning. Using an automated means to accomplish this (such as an auto clicker or anti-afk bot of some kind) will result in more severe punishments typically.

Use of an alt as a bot, or even running a bot on your main account, is not allowed. Do not use Baritone on our servers. All inputs made in the game should be made by a real human being.

Do not abuse duplication bugs or other exploits in the game for your own gain. If you discover an issue that could duplicate items, give players an infinite amount of resource, or otherwise seems broken, please report the issue for a reward.

Using external tools or modifying mods to give yourself access to further abilities than most people on the server is not allowed. This includes using modified versions of Joy of Painting to paint with a wider range of colors, or getting custom images into the server through mods via unintended routes.

Only use custom content and/or supported mods as intended and without modifications. Abusing server features to display custom assets within the server in an unintended way (such as taking photos of a texture in a custom resource pack) is not allowed. Use mods for their intended purpose only. If you're making things outside of the game that affects your mod use in-game, it's probably not allowed.

No Griefing or Stealing

This is not an anarchy server. All player-made builds and creations should not be touched unless you have permission. This includes adding things onto these builds, such as modifying someone's build during a build event or digging a large moat around someone's claim. If it's not yours, don't mess with it.

Unclaimed chests, shulkers, furnaces, and other containers should not be used if they're not yours. You're welcome to use Ender Chests in other players claims, though. Don't kill named mobs for any reason - we have logs on that kind of thing.

Lava casts are almost always not allowed and will result in bans, event, especially if they impact another player'it's base. The only exception would be using them as a waycompetitive to frame out a large structure, though please attempt to clean up your mess before logging off. Giant cobblestone pyramids are an eyesore no matter where they are and should not be made.

In general, don't do anything to deliberately annoy or take from someone else. Don't steal mobs, don't let them out of their cage, don't abuse gaps in their claims, and don't make ugly stuff.

Don't intentionally cause lag

Building lag machines or abusing bugs in the game to otherwise degrade other player's experience is not allowed. Doing this will result in permanent ban - it isn't funny. Particularly server-intensive builds or farms may be disabled / nerfed if they're causing a ton of lag or otherwise making it hard for others to play.

Do not evade bans

Ban evasion is a severe offense and will result in a permanent ban for all of your accounts, even if you were only banned temporarily.event. Please wait out temp bans, or appeal if needed. We are far less flexible with appeals for players who have ban evaded in the past.

To avoid potential punishments down the road, please report anyone you know or suspect to be ban evadingcheating to staff.

All

Use activitymod mustcontent as intended

SMPOnline supports some modded content, currently Joy of Painting and Camerapture at time of writing. These mods allow you to express yourself and be stream appropriate

Excessive, toxic swearing, any use of slurs or other Twitch-banned terms, and spam are not allowed and may result in punishment. Edgy jokes about sensitive topics (suicide, shootings, racism, etc) may result in a ban. Jokes about doxxing will result in punishment, and discussion of it as a topic is highly discouraged. Hate symbols, nazi symbolism, and any otherwise anti-semetic imagery/allusions/themed builds/jokes will lead to a permanent ban. All of these rules also apply to voice chat!

Excessive sexual content is also not allowed, such as constant sexual jokes, written erotica, or constant implication of sexual acts. While crass and sometimes sexual jokes are made on stream and in videos, they are generally brief and infrequent. Try to avoid getting in the habit of making sexual remarks, jokes, or using excessive sexual theming in anything - that's not the atmosphere we're aiming for.

In line with our community expectations on Discord, please avoid conversations about politics or religion in-game. These topics too often slip into unproductive behavior for us to allow them going forward, and they're not really appropriate for stream either. Please note that this does not include any in-character roleplay lore, this is regarding real world topics only.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL INTERACTIONS IN GAME THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNT! Do not use LLMs or other AIs to communicate or interact on your behalf. Even if automated, any actions taken that violate our rules will be your responsibility and will be treated as actions taken by you.

Anything that cannot be shown on Twitch should not be built or done. Keep it appropriate to stream, and keep it light.

All mod use must be appropriate

There are many third party mods for Minecraft that add features, such as custom player models or animations, to the server. While we don't strictly recommend or condone use of these modscreative on the server, playersas willwell inevitablyas document your activities in-game through this custom content. While we encourage people to find creative use-cases for our mods, you should respect our intentions in your use. them anyway.

If you're using a mod that affects other player's experience on the server without their explicit prior permission, such as Figura, Customizable Player Models, or otherModifying mods that enable custom content visible to other players, you must abide by these guidelines.

  • Visual content must be appropriate for all ages, including animations
  • Sound effects must be at a reasonable volume and not "spammy"
  • All content must not be disruptive to server gameplay
  • Player models including sexually themed animations, textures, etc, even if not shown, are prohibited
  • Use of custom animations to imply sexual contexts is not allowed
  • You must have control over everything displayed through your mod use.
    • This means no AI, LLMs, or any other means of displaying anything you haven't vetted and moderated

Sexual modded content is not allowed and will result in a ban.way Wethat willallows ban users who publish content online depicting sexual content via mods on SMPOnline.

As an example, andyou to providetake clarityunintended on our stance, a character model with breasts is fine. However, applying jiggle physicsactions or otherwise sexualizingautomate anatomytasks done manually is not allowed. If there'swe've anytaken ambiguitysteps onto therestrict stafffunctionality sideof ona certain part of a mod, do not circumvent our restrictions. If you're unsure if something qualifies as "sexualized," expect a conversation, not a ban.

Respect staff and their decisions

Staff on the server take actions necessary to keep our server a chill place to play Minecraft. These actions are in response to things done by other members of the community and are logged, as well as reviewed. For privacy, we will not share the reasons for punishments with anyone other than who the punishment was issued to. We also do not disclose who issued the punishment originally.

Producing content in the server depicting or alluding to banned users may result in a punishment and a removal of the content. Intentionallyyou're doing this for "drama" purposes will likely result in a ban, especially if you're trying to assist a banned user in communicating with someone on the server.

Arguing about punishments in server chat is notallowed, allowed. Pleaseplease make a ticket inand the CMC Discord if you disagree with a particular punishment that was issued.ask.

SMPOnline Rules

These rules only apply to SMPOnline andDo not any events.

Avoid lagging the server

Keep mob farms / villager trading halls away from spawn or towns. These structures are a large contributor toabuse server lag. Even small farms like this add up rather quickly with over 100 players online. Villagers may be disabled or removed if too close to high traffic areas. Mob farms may be disabled or removed by staff if they're an issue - especially if they're automated, like an automatic iron farm.

Don't block villagers with trap doorsfeatures because this is also very laggy due to issues with Villager pathing on the version the server is on. Please stick to full blocks wherever possible. Your villagers will be automatically disabled if they attempt to path through a trapdoor.

Don't make disruptive builds

Avoid blocking rivers and waterways with bridges or walls. If you do terraforming to completely eliminate a river, that's perfectly fine, but don't obstruct a path players might be taking with boats. The minimum gap between water and your bridge for it to be allowed is 1.5 blocks, aka a full air block and the underside of a top slab. Try to leave more room than this, and please don't make the underside of your bridge a dark hazard where mobs can spawn. Don't leave temporary river bridges in the water.

Don't build huge, ugly pathways/railways/highways through the sky. If you're slowly making progress on a large scale build like this, do your best to use high quality materials. Your infrastructure should look good - not like some kind of temporary scaffolding. Ensure you have enough materials to finish the sections of your infrastructure you've started before you create a build crossing thousands of blocks.

Don't grief other players

Unsafe Fast Cart railways need to have signage warning of the danger. These roller coasters and elytra launcher setups are quite fun to use! However, when unmarked, unsuspecting players can stumble across them, board them, and die unexpectedly. Please put up signs warning of any danger, as well as how you can avoid death while riding. Repeatedly ignoring this rule will be considered building a player trap and will result in a punishment.

Building player killing traps, especially if it's to steal their items, is not allowed. If these traps are built and used, you may be banned from the server. Pranking your friends is fine, but building a trap that someone could accidentally stumble into is not. If staff have to be called to resolve this kind of situation, punishments are likely to be issued.

Don't randomly kill or attack players with PVP enabled. There should be a reason why you're attacking someone else if you are. It should be a mutual effort. Killing other players to take their items is not allowed - return people's stuff. Don't steal items from players who died in front of you. Do your best to avoid picking up their death loot.

In general, don't make it difficult for another player to have fun.

Don't abuse our claim system

We've had numerous issues with claims over few years we've ran SMPOnline. Here's what isn't cool to do.

Do not claim limited structures andonly restrictto limit access to them, such as strongholds or ancient cities. These areas are public resources and should be kept available for all players to use and benefit from.from in survival. You're welcome to raid them for resources, but don'tdo preventnot othersrestrict from entering. Keep in mind - claims, by default, prevent players from modifying blocks in that area. If you've claimed a stronghold, it's ideal to provide an easy-to-find, public entrance for it.access.

Don't claim useful natural resourcesstructures justwithout alteration plans, such as dungeons and trial chambers. There is no reason to claim these structures unless you have immediate build plans. Specifically with trial chambers, avoid destroying them for your build and, instead, renovate them. If you'reWe buildingtypically awill basenot at a dungeon orremove trial chamber -vaults cool.for If not, don't claim it. Claims preventing access to these things with no obvious player build, or an insignificant amount of progress after request, will be removed. builds.

Don'tDo not abuse claims to interfere with other users or towns. Claims are intended to protect your creations only and should not be weaponized. You may be banned if you use the claim largesystem portionsfor ofmalicious purposes. Hoarding land around a townspawn or base.in Don'tdeveloping claimareas otherof people'sthe builds, map either.is Leavenot other players private bases alone.allowed.

Claiming land atto spawnsell in/near other user's towns/bases/builds is not allowed. Unless you have some actual reason to sell,be loan, selling givethat out, land (such as being a town owner, or otherwisehaving offerpreviously used/tried to use the claim for legitimate purposes), you cannot sell claims to other playersusers isin other people's areas/public areas. This includes trying to sell claims surrounding spawn or admin waystones.

Auctions are not allowed.for advertising. OnlyDo claimnot whatlist youitems planfor auction solely to usespam an advertisement for your ownevent. builds. Our claim system allows you to make subclaims - however, this system is not intended to be used as town or HOA-like management. This may change in Season 5, but for now, please abide by this rule.

Claiming land solely to sell it to other players for in-game currency or items is not allowed. If you have no intent to build at a location, do not claim there. If you change your mind, unclaim the land or give it to someone you know. Don't try and market it for sale.

Don't force other players to have their base claimed by you. Let players claim their own builds. You should use our claim transfer system to make them the owner of the claim upon request. Alternatively, you may simply unclaim the land if needed. Note that this rule doesn't apply for, example, basing with other people or having your friend's base claimed for them.

Don't claim a large amount of land nearby spawn. There is limited real estate near spawn for player builds. Please be considerate of other players and limit the amount of land you or your group has claimed to mirror that of other players. Claiming large amounts of land for a potential town should not be done within 800 blocks (50 chunks) of spawn.

Do not adjustrestrict access to public transportation methods, such as warp plates and waystones. Even if your claim lowercontains thanthese methods of travel, you should not interfere with access to them if they're used by the public.

Don't enforce rules yourself

If someone is breaking the server rules, please report it needs to be. Ourstaff claims,so they can handle it. You can do this in-game by default, private onlymessaging extendthem, downor toby y=30.making Ifa ticket if you're basingunsure lowerif thananyone's that, available. If someone's actions are actively damaging things on the server (like griefing), feel free to extend your claim. Otherwise, leave this value what it normally is. Our default limit is at y=30 to allow players to mine and otherwise explore the underground without being impeded by player bases constantly. If you do this for no reason, you may be punished.

All Paintings must be appropriate

We have Joy of Painting, a mod that allows you to make custom paintings. This, of course, gives players the opportunity to make anything they wish as a painting. In general, all paintings should be appropriate for the server and stream, noting that the stream and server are a mature environment.

Below are some examples of what is and isn't allowed, though please keep in mind that these lists are not all-inclusive! These lists may be updated as more ambiguous situations are found.

Examples of Inappropriate Paintings

  • Anything that violates Twitch's Sensitive Content policy, such as nudity, exposed genitalia, or any sexually explicit scenarios
  • Sexually framed images, such as subjects in sexually evocative poses or dressed in overly evocative or exposing attire
  • Paintings with an exclusive focus on sexual aspects of a subject, such as the character's butt, crotch, or chest
    • Mural painters should avoid creating paintings like this via their tiling to avoid issues, such as by using smaller canvases for that section of the painting to avoid abuse by other users
  • Any paintings that appear to depict sexual fluids, or implied as such
  • Paintings that were solely created to graphically depict a fetish with no other clear purpose
    • An example would be an entire painting of only a highly detailed mouth
    • Something that doesn't fall under this rule would be a painting of paws or other everyday sights
  • Extreme depictions of gore, so basically nothing skin-crawling by most people's standards
    • Something on the level of what you might expect to see in a Halloween context is fine, as an example
  • Depictions of self-harm, suicide, or real world deaths, or imagery that heavily implies such

Examples of Appropriate Paintings

  • Anything you might find in a movie outside of any excessively gory or sexual imagery, or any otherwise sexually evocative scenes
  • Non-sexualized depiction of subject(s) in swimsuits or other somewhat exposing, everyday attire such as "crop tops"
  • Depictions of blood in humorous or horror contexts, for tasteful artistic purposes, or as a detail element in builds

Notable Rule Exceptions

Some things may seem against the rules, but are not. Here's a few of them, as well as why they are an exception. This list may be added to over time.

Buying out another player's shops

Our server is very player economy driven, so other players are incentivized to buy out other player's shops simply by nature of the "open market" of the server. We allow players to put limits on their shops to dissuade competition, though it's generally wiser to increase prices to try and pricestop yourthem competitorbefore outstaff ofare their practices if limits would inconvenience your customers.

Politely enforcing town aesthetics

Minecraft is a very expressive, artistic game. Many players have made towns in the past with a particular "look"able to them.respond. IfHowever, youplease don'tleave wantexisting todamage conformas-is toso astaff particularcan aesthetic, record it'sit notand "cool"respond orwhen "allowed"they to build something completely against that aesthetic against the wishes of the town's residents. As mentioned earlier in the rules, it's better to resolve this type of thing privately than involve staff.arrive.

Creative Event Rules

These rules only apply to our Creative mode events and nothing else.

Do not spawn in buggy items

Creating bugged out items, such as splash potions that kill creative players, is not allowed. We've taken a number of measures to prevent players from spawning in such resources, but we'd prefer if you just don't try it out. Anything else that may be disruptive (such as an extremely loud noise maker, an entity spawner, or anything that crashes players) is not allowed.

Don't be obnoxiously loud

Music machines are fine, though it's likely they'll stop functioning properly if TPS degrades enough. Anything else that's intended to be loud should not be built as it's going to be removed / disabled by staff.

Abuse of goat horns will result in a punishment - probably a temp ban if we can't mute it for whatever reason.

If you're being wicked annoying in VC you're just going to get muted or banned. Don't harass staff to unmute you during the event unless you were simply muted incorrectly.

Leave other player's stuff alone

Putting random stuff on other player's builds is not allowed. Every build in the event should be built to the intent of the person who made it, untainted by others. If you accidentally break someone's build, try and fix it or ask staff for help fixing it. In general, though, all rule enforcement should be handled by the staff team. Please do not create rules for your own thing!

Competitive Event Rules

These rules only apply to events we run where players are directly competing for a reward of some kind. Note that many punishments that occur during competitive events are only temporary.

Follow all event rules

It's critical that you review any specific rules laid out at the beginning of an event before participating. Failure to follow thesetown rules may result in a banpunishment, especially if it extends into harassment. Towns are only allowed to encourage a town theme.

If there's a disagreement you can't resolve on whether a build fits an established town theme, please contact staff for help.

Respect staff and their decisions

All actions taken by staff are made with the best interest of the player base in mind. Out of respect for the privacy of everyone on the server, we typically do not make information public about punishments unless the affected player discusses matters publicly. Please do not ask staff for information about why another player was banned or disqualification. Somemuted, eventespecially rulesin public chats.

You should use the Discord invite available to you in your ban message to appeal your ban. If you're unable to see a Discord invite, then you're welcome to use this invite.

Punishment Types

We do not have a standardizedconcern systemabout forhow issuingstaff punishments, are suchbehaving, asplease make an Admin Ticket. Retaliation against staff members directly may result in a "3 strike rule" or anything along those lines. However, there are a few common types of punishment that can occur when rules are broken. All punishments noted here are logged and reviewed by other staff, as well as periodically by server management.ban.

Kicks

A momentary punishment that is only logged. These may sometimes be issued alongside warnings for certain rule violations, such as avoiding our AFK kick. In general, though, these punishments have no direct consequence and typically will not lead to a ban on their own.

Mutes

Can occur in both text chat and voice chat. Sometimes are permanent, sometimes are temporary. You may have to contact staff to remove this type of punishment if it doesn't expire after a few days. These punishments are usually only issued against players for conduct issues, such as mic spam or mild toxicity.

A temporary punishment that expires after 30 days. These are issued for minor infractions and do not have any consequence on their own. Receive 3 warnings and you will be kicked for your "final warning." After 4 unexpired warnings, you will be automatically permanently banned from the server. If you're warned while offline, you will be notified via a chat message upon logging in.

Temporary Bans

A temporary punishment that restricts you from logging into the server, expiring in varied amounts of time. More severe rule violations typically receive longer temporary bans. Multiple temporary bans are uncommon unless extremely unrelated and over a large period of time. If you receive one of these, it's very likely your next punishment will be a permanent ban. This is especially true if you repeat behavior you were temporarily banned for.

Permanent Bans

A permanent punishment that prevents you from logging into the server. This is for the most severe of rule violations, typically when players show some sort of deliberate malicious intent. Often, these are issued against cheaters and griefers. However, these bans may be issued for more behavioral reasons, such as toxicity or general misconduct. These are also issued, as noted in the Warnings section, after 4 unexpired warnings.
